This song kills me every time I listen to it and now the video just makes it worse because it so perfect and I would like to take a moment to discuss the song.

When you think about it it comes across rather selfish on the surface because it’s exactly what everyone wants to know “will you still love me when I’m no longer young and beautiful?” and the pinnacle of this apparent ‘selfishness’ is within the middle eight “Dear lord when I get to Heaven please let me bring my man. When he comes tell me that you’ll let him in, farther tell me if you can” but for me this far from selfish in simple crude terms I feel she is basically saying “I fucking love you so much, so fucking much that I would rip you from the world before your time because being in Heaven means nothing if you’re not with me” that’s just me though.

Me hearing a song I like now: Did you hear that key change in the pre-chorus? This production is so on point, Paul Epworth/Blood Orange/Mark Ronson is a genius. The middle eight where the sound drops out and it’s just the vocals is so good. The chord progression is amazing. How do you even harmonize like that? I wonder what they mean with those lyrics. Such a thoughtful use of a sample it really works with this track. This would sound so good on vinyl.

Oh here it comes superfluous rent-a-rapper feature. You don’t like this do you? Dubstep break down, that is so 2011. “You can’t go to bed without your cup of tea” fuck off, what does even mean are you dating an 80 year old? YOU’RE BASIC! YOU’RE A PEASANT! YOU’RE A FLOP!
